Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) is seeking a Design Engineer/ Principal Design Engineer. What You will Get To Do:This qualified candidate will support the Sentinel Weapon System Design Analysis & Configuration team that focuses on managing the large Sentinel Weapon System product baseline. In this role the qualified candidate will serve as a program wide liaison within the Sentinel design engineering community. They will connect the various major program segment systems through architecting the Weapon System drawing trees, managing the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM), architecting and application of product effectivity, developing final system to system Installation Product Definition Packages (PDP), and providing interpretation and guidance on design engineering process and procedure across the program to support program wide execution. Additional duties include:Provide functional design support on program design procedures and engineering model and drawing release. Educate and guide the design engineering community on proper EBOM management within the Sentinel construct. Participate in technical reviews of new and revised Division design processes and procedures in support of technical execution. Author program specific design and product baseline related processes and procedures which integrate seamlessly with Test, Production Operations, and other Functional areas. Support Program wide efforts to integrate the large supply base product baseline into the larger Sentinel CPLM Weapon System product baseline. This position can be filled as a Design Engineer (level 2) Principal Design Engineer (level 3) depending on experience and qualifications. Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (level 2) or 5 years of relevant experience (level 3)U.S. citizen. Active Secret clearance at time of application. Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet business needs . years experience with Product Lifecyle Management (PLM) tools 2 years experience with 3 D CAD modeling tools 2 years experience developing and releasing engineering models and drawings 2 years experience developing and releasing model based engineering Digital Product Definition Packages. Familiarity with basic GD&T interpretation. Strong communication skills across large diverse organizations. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Siemens Teamcenter or Teamcenter CPLM Product Lifecycle Management Tool. Experience with Siemens NX - Experience managing the configuration of large Weapon System or Vehicle platforms. Possesses a strong knowledge and background of design engineering release procedures and configuration management practices. Strong knowledge and experience managing multiple product baseline Engineering Bill of Materials through effectivity management. Ability to develop and implement solutions with minimal oversight given a challenging problem statement. Ability to manage complex special technical assignments under pressure from engineering leadership and program directors. Experience preparing and reviewing CDR - Ls. Roy UT salary range:Level 2 - 72,100-108,100 Level 3 - 89,400-134,200 Colorado Springs CO salary range:Level 2 - 75,800-113,800 Level 3 - 94,200-141,200 Huntsville AL salary range:Level 2 - 79,600-119,400 Level 3 - 98,900-148,300 Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $119,400.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $148,300.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
