The Emergency Department technician assists in the care of patients by performing various duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Assists in patient data collection. Provides appropriate care to assigned patients. Performs treatments and procedures according to established hospital policy and procedures. Prepares patient environment for receiving patients. Assists in and, as necessary, accompanies patient in the admission, transfer and discharge process. Assists the nurse or physician in procedures and treatments as necessary. Appropriately places patients on a cardiac monitor as instructed by nursing staff. Handles and cares for patients clothing, valuables and other personal property (including prosthetic devices, hearing aides, dentures, glasses, contact lenses, etc.) from admission through discharge. Functions appropriately during emergencies and crisis situations. Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED Required. Successful completion of a duly authorized CNA Training program with CNA certification, OR EMT-B certification OR a Nursing Student enrolled in a Nursing program who has completed Fundamentals of Nursing including a clinical rotation. Current ED experience is preferred. BLS from American Heart Association is required. Must be computer literate. Must be able to read and write basic English. Salary Range. USD $26.46 - USD $26.46 / Hr.
