Perform dialysis treatments according to prescribed protocols and physician orders. Monitor patients during dialysis treatment, assessing vital signs and responding to any changes in condition. Set up and operate dialysis machines, including performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as needed. Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed by the physician. Educate patients and their families about dialysis procedures, dietary restrictions, and self-care techniques. Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including documenting treatment activities and patient progress. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards in the dialysis unit. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge. EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Nursing Assistant (NA), Medical Assistant (MA), or other healthcare experience preferred. Must successfully complete the Greenfield Health Systems dialysis training program, as a condition of continued employment. CERTIFICATIONS/ LICENSURES REQUIRED: As a condition of continued employment, certification as a dialysis technician must be obtained (and maintained) within designated timeline of 18 months, in accordance with federal regulation.
