We are looking for the very best to join our AAA 4-Diamond Hotel, featured in the Top 10 of all Meeting Hotels in the United States per Cvent. The Director of Safety and Security is responsible for all of the security and safety functions within the hotel. This person will be responsible for training and reinforcing security staff on all security and safety related topics. This includes guest and employee emergencies, complete incident reports, maintain proper reporting and recordkeeping. This position is responsible to ensure hotel meets or exceeds company audits. Experience with hotel insurance and workers comp claims, work with local law enforcement with events related near or around the hotel. This job requires a lot of administrative work in numerous systems, computer and system literacy is required. A minimum of two years of Security and/or risk management leadership experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, highly organized and customer service experience preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Identify and protect company assets through the development and implementation of security protocols and policies. Maintain updated safety policy and procedures, audit quarterly for accuracy. Ensure colleague compliance with security procedures and guidelines through training programs and assessments. Ensure the safety of colleagues and guests within the workplace. Perform security process evaluations and inspections. Prepare the organization and staff for both internal & external audits/inspections. Manage the budget, scheduling and daily operations for the Security department. Prepare and submit all safety-related reporting on an annual and ad-hoc basis. Includes annual property survey & annual security, safety assessment survey, and OSHA reporting. Lead the safety and hygiene efforts on property. Chair the property Safety Committee in partnership with the Human Resources Director. Partner with Human Resources on Worker’s Compensation administration and reporting. Hire and train security staff. The salary range for this position is $126,000 to $155,000. This is the pay range for this position Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education. Security certifications preferred. First. Aid/ CPR trainer certification preferred. First. Aid/ CPR certification required. Previous experience working in Security. Working knowledge of surveillance programs. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to monitor surveillance systems and respond to emergency situations. Excellent team building and leadership skills. Ability to complete tasks with high attention to detail. Interest in protecting the people and assets within the organization. Ability to interpret data and complete required reporting using Excel and other systems. Strong problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated ability to conduct oneself with the highest level of trust and integrity.
