The Specialist 2 plays a crucial role in supporting and executing various tasks and projects within the department. This position requires a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members. The Specialist 2 will contribute to the successful implementation of initiatives and help ensure the smooth operation of departmental activities. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - List most important duties first 1. Assist in the execution of specific IT tasks and projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards .. Collect and analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings to relevant stakeholders .. Conduct research and gather information on assigned topics to support decision-making processes .. Provide support in developing and implementing processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness .. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate communication and coordination among team members .. Support the preparation and delivery of presentations, training materials, and other communication materials .. Maintain accurate and organized documentation, records, and files .. Assist in monitoring project progress, identifying potential issues, and proposing solutions .. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements relevant to the assigned area. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED 10. Assist in managing and maintaining relevant software applications, tools, and databases .1. Contribute to the development and improvement of departmental workflows and standard operating procedures .2. Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings, preparing meeting agendas, and taking minutes .3. Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures .4. Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills .5. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. EDUCATION - High School Diploma or GED; additional certifications or relevant training a plus. WORK EXPERIENCE - Previous experience in a related role or field is preferred. SKILL AND/ OR REQUIRED LICENSING/ CERTIFICATION - Software. Child Nutrition software (Primero. Edge, etc.) preferred. Microsoft Office. Certifications/ Licensure. Certification in Child Nutrition (School Nutrition Association or Texas Association of School Nutrition) preferred. Serv. Safe Certification and/or City of Houston Food Handler Certification recommended. Equipment. Office equipment (e.g., computer, copier)Other Skills - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. - Attention to detail and accuracy in work output. - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders. - Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. - Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. - Willingness to learn and expand knowledge in the assigned area. - Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality results. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
