The New Product Development Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design of new and current Pulsafeeder products, while working in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, team environment. It is essential the Engineer is experienced in the methods of rapid new product development and demonstrates creativity, problem solving, and independent judgement. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Engineers current, new, or derivative products: Works cross-functionally to contribute to all aspects of a development project from concept to launch. Develops and executes a technical development plan in accordance with Pulsafeeder process. Works with Marketing to transform requirements into product specifications. Applies creativity and advanced Mechanical Engineering theories, methods, and techniques to achieve reliable and cost effectively compliant design. Designs in compliance with applicable agency standards (e.g. API 675, CE, ATEX, IEC - Ex) Works hands-on to develop, test, and evaluate product designs. Prepares and presents project and technical design reviews. Develops design validation test plans. Oversees/performs lab testing and documents test results. Works cross functionally with Supply Chain and Quality to evaluate purchased and manufactured parts. Participates in manufacturing work instruction creation and training. Assists in the development of customer facing documentation including cut sheets, user manuals and product selection guides. Works with Sales, Marketing, and external customers to ensure the product solution meets the customer’s expectations and requirements. Investigates, prepares, and implements engineering change notices. Provides technical consultation with factory and field personnel, customers, and distributors. Makes intellectual property disclosures and assist company with applications. Willing and able to undertake domestic and international travel in support of business needs. Assists with other projects as needed by management KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Experience High proficiency in solid modeling and analysis (Solidworks preferred, FEA/ CFD) Working knowledge of hydraulic systems including operation, design, and integration of instrumentation 3-5 years of experience designing mechanical systems Intermediate knowledge of positive displacement pumps, mechanical seals, and electrical instrumentation Experience designing for conventional manufacturing methods - sand, investment and die casting, CNC machining, and injection molded plastic manufacturing. Experience with additive manufacturing (3 D printing) methods desirable. Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies Familiarity with API 675 agency standards required Familiarity with DFSS, DFM, FMEA, tolerance analysis, and Risk Assessment methodologies Experience delivering results through collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team. Total Rewards. The compensation range for this position is $69,200.00 - $103,800.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan. Benefits Package.
