Key Position Details:1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period)Day/evening/night shifts, variable shifts lengths. Every other weekend rotation. Job Description:Provides dispatch communications coordination for emergency medical services; ALS, BLS and Special Transportation. Triages calls and provides medical direction in emergencies prior to on scene arrival. Serves as a resource for field operations providing direction to facilitate rapid deployment. Principle Responsibilities. Provides dispatch communication coordination for ALS, BLS and Special Transportation. Facilitates daily operations of medical transportation. Determines level of care using medical triage with caller. Provides caller with medical direction in emergencies prior to on scene arrival. Establishes and maintains communications with internal and external customers. Serves as resource for emergency medical services field operations. Gives direction to facilitate rapid deployment. Monitors and prioritizes emergency and non-emergency radio traffic. Coordinates and deploys units in incidences of mass casualty. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications. Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED - One year of experience in Emergency Medical Services Dispatch or Healthcare (Medical Assistant, Emergency Room Technician)Licenses/ Certifications. Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) required within 60 Days.
