The Anesthesia Technician demonstrates through clinical practice a clear understanding of aseptic techniques and has a working knowledge of the specialized equipment and supplies utilized by the Anesthesiologist/ Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist (CRNA). Responsibilities Essential Functions - Restocks the anesthesia supplies, equipment and drugs in the operating room after each case. - Maintains and assures adequate inventory levels of anesthesia supplies in departmental service areas and is responsible for ordering these supplies. - Cleans and maintains the equipment utilized in the delivery of anesthetic service. - Sets up all invasive monitoring lines as requested by anesthesia. - Responds and assists Anesthesiologist/ CRNA with all perioperative anesthesia emergencies. - Demonstrates competency in specific tasks and skills defined by the Surgical Services specific competency list. - Communicates appropriate information to the Anesthesiologist/ CRNA and perioperative nursing staff. - Transports and delivers items, equipment, and medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs) throughout the facility. - May have limited access to areas storing medications. - Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. - Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Qualifications Education/ Training High School graduate or equivalent. Licensure/ Certification Maintains current BLS/ Healthcare Provider certification. Experience At least 1 year of experience as an Anesthesia Technician.
