The University at Buffalo (UB) Office of the Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Education seeks to hire a Staff Assistant, for undergraduate education, to provide administrative support for all aspects related to undergraduate course and curriculum matters. The Staff Assistant will collaborate with members of the Curriculum team and Dean’s Office to assist with review, revision, and processing of new and revised course and degree program proposals and ongoing catalog maintenance. In addition, the Staff Assistant will provide key administrative support for the general education program and the UB Curriculum. The successful candidate will exhibit strong written and oral communication skills as well as highly developed organizational and project management skills. Key Duties and Responsibilities are: Provide assistance and administrative support for campus-wide course and curriculum activities including new and revised course proposals, new and revised curriculum/degree proposals, and ongoing catalog maintenance. Coordinate the Associate Dean’s monthly meetings including collecting, proofing, and disseminating agenda materials in a professional and timely manner. Assist with the day-to-day management of the curriculum management system, including trouble-shooting issues, updating workflow, and/or user access and providing end-user training and support Provide programmatic support of the UB Curriculum, including managing daily operations, email alias mailbox, and routing and responding to inquiries accordingly. Collaborate with faculty committees to support general education assessment activities. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor’s Degree and one year of experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse constituents including: faculty, staff, students, administrators and offices across campus. Experience in higher education including: a thorough understanding of undergraduate education academic programs, general education, curriculum development. Strong technological/computer competence. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and two years of responsible work experience. Higher education experience in areas pertaining to degree auditing, course and curriculum development, and general project management. Experience working with PeopleSoft and Info. Source.
