The Revenue Accounting Manager is responsible for the end-to-end revenue cycle in a large division of the Company. You will lead a team to ensure that revenue is recorded and reported accurately, in accordance with ASC 606 and with the Company’s policy. You are process driven, a self-starter, and a collaborator with experience in optimally executing against accounting close in a public company environment. This is a hands-on people manager role: you’ll both manage and coach the team and be directly involved in complex investigations, reconciliations, and escalations. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the revenue month-end close process, including the detailed review of journal entries and reconciliations for key accounts like deferred revenue, deferred warranty and customer settlement/ Reconciliation. - Work with the Corporate technical accounting team to document conclusions for customer contracts to ensure strict adherence to ASC 606 and internal company policies. - Review, manage and account for product warranties, ensuring correct classification between assurance-type and service-type warranties under ASC 606. - Perform sales and gross margin analysis by various metrics, i.e. customer, product, region etc. - Assist the finance team to provide revenue forecasts. - Build and manage a strong set of internal controls for our new division. You will lead the effort to create SOX-compliant processes from scratch to make sure our financial reporting is accurate and is compliant. - Sequence and oversee the implementation of revenue system enhancements, driving automation to shorten reporting cycles and improve accuracy. - Assist with Legal and Sales on revenue assessment related to customer contract negotiations liaising with Corporate. - Work with Operations to source and analyze the data inputs necessary for complex revenue adjustments. - Provide management readout on fluctuation analyses for revenue-related balance sheet and income statement accounts. - Act as the primary point of contact for all revenue-related audit requests and provide critical data for 10-Q and 10-K filings. - Document standard operating procedures, training materials on revenue accounting as needed - Lead the hiring and training process for new team members to scale the revenue department as the company grows. - Manage and coach a team of revenue accountants, providing regular feedback and supporting their professional career growth. - Complete ad-hoc requests and special assignments as required. Qualifications: - Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 7 years of experience in revenue accounting including 2 years in a supervisory role. CPA designation and knowledge of U.S. GAAP are preferred. - Technical Skills: Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with revenue recognition principles. - Communication: Strong organizational skills and interpersonal communication abilities.
