The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the EHS function, assisting with regulatory compliance, workplace safety programs, incident management, and employee engagement initiatives. This role supports daily EHS operations while maintaining a visible presence on the production floor and ensuring accurate documentation, effective communication, and timely follow-through on safety initiatives. Approximately 60% of this role’s time is spent on the production floor supporting day-to-day safety execution and employee engagement. Key Responsibilities: - EHS Program Administration & Compliance - Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment. - Maintain comprehensive EHS records, including inspections, training documentation, incident reports, and record-retention files. - Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) documentation and regulatory compliance files to support OSHA and environmental requirements. - Support monitoring of compliance with federal, state, and local safety (OSHA) and environmental (EPA) regulations. Training & Employee Engagement: - Deliver safety training to employees, including New Hire Orientation (NHO), and maintain accurate training records. - Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs and initiatives. - Assist with EHS engagement activities and program rollouts on the production floor through effective communication and coordination. - Coordinate EHS events, meetings, and trainings, including the annual safety fair. Incident Management & Prevention: - Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents. - Conduct root-cause analysis and support corrective action development and tracking to completion. - Assist with injury trend analysis and proactive hazard prevention efforts. Occupational Health & Emergency Response Support: - Support the Hearing Conservation Program by maintaining annual audiometric records and coordinating required evaluations, including make-up testing as needed. - Support Emergency Response Team (ERT) processes, including application and onboarding activities as applicable. Committees, Meetings & Coordination: - Facilitate monthly Safety and Ergonomics Committee meetings; prepare agendas and materials, capture action items, and follow up to closure. - Provide administrative support for EHS purchasing activities, including requisitions, invoice processing, and tracking for supplies, training, and events. Inspections & Field Presence: - Conduct daily or weekly facility walk-throughs to identify hazardous conditions and observe safety practices. - Collaborate with leaders and employees to address findings and support corrective actions. --- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. - High attention to detail with strong follow-through and demonstrated initiative. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information to groups. - Proven ability to coordinate meetings, events, and training logistics while tracking responsibilities and deadlines. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort working within electronic document and records management systems. - Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Minimum Education & Experience: - High School Diploma or GED Required. - Associate degree or higher, or equivalent specialized Environmental Health and Safety training is preferred - Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a professional manufacturing environment. - Experience supporting leadership teams and/or senior management preferred. - Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively in a frequently changing, fast-paced environment. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) required. - Ability to independently make confidentiality decisions using appropriate judgment. - Experience with electronic document management systems preferred. - Experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain operations preferred The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by team members assigned to this position.
