Provides excellent patient care to every patient. Triage patients as they come into the ER with appropriate medical decision making and escalation to ER doctor as appropriate. Obtaining history and vital signs of the pet. Assist DVM's with exams, treatments and procedures. Immediately respond to STAT calls and follow the appropriate patient care protocols. Perform standard technician duties including patient restraint, venipuncture, SQ Fluids, radiographs, medication administration as ordered by a veterinarian, obtain and process laboratory samples, handle and dispense medications by veterinarian orders. Perform sedation and anesthesia according to established hospital protocols (induction, maintenance, monitoring and recovery). Maintain accurate paperless medical records utilizing Ezy. Vet and Smartflow. Demonstrate working knowledge of financial and charging practices including creating estimates and discussing with the owners, collecting payment and discharging patients. Collaborate with all departments across the hospital to ensure that all patients are receiving the best possible patient care. Demonstrate compassion and care in all interactions. Attend department and staff meetings. Contribute to the overall needs, cleanliness and organization of the hospital. Other duties as needed. Qualifications. Minimum Requirements:At least 1 year of Veterinary Technician experience required. High school diploma or equivalent. Colorado Registered Veterinary Technician or the ability to become registered upon hire. Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus! Preferred Qualifications:At least 1 Veterinary Technician experience in an Emergency or Specialty Practice. Ability to multitask and anticipate needs. Excellent communication skills in all areas including clients, staff, and leadership. Great work ethic and positive attitude. Ability to adhere to strict attendance policies. Ability to handle fluctuation caseload and emergency situations.
