The DC Area Manager provides direction and leadership to hourly associates in the Distribution Center. SUPERVISION:Direct:Direct responsibility of a group of hourly associates ranging from 4-75 associates. REPORTS TO:Operations Manager JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:Establishes and monitors the daily production schedules and ensures adherence to priorities. Monitors and identifies procedures set forth in the distribution center to ensure integrity and accuracy of inventory and that available resources are utilized productively in order to control cost. Determines and implements appropriate procedures and monitors adherence to, efficiency and cost effectiveness of the processes, and recommends changes, revisions, additions or deletions as necessary. Monitors activities to ensure proper work flow and controls inventory processes to enhance member experienceSupports all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates. Oversees the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF System. Takes appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF System. Communicates to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF System. Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associates. JOB REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalent 3-4 years of related experience 18 years of age or older. REQUIRED SKILLS:Strong knowledge of distribution center procedures with analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and proficient computer skills. Exceptional leadership, administrative, and organizational skills with the ability to drive results. Ability to physically access all areas of working environment that he/she is responsible for to observe operations/ associates. Ability to be flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends, and operate on tight deadlines with multiple priorities subject to frequent changes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a group of associates. PREFERRED SKILLS:Associates Degree or above in Operations Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or Transportation. Working knowledge of Lean Principles
