The Compliance Specialist (Administrative Program Support 1) in the Office of Clinical Placement Coordination will support compliance aspects of clinical/practicum student placements for undergraduate, certificate and graduate students across specific programs at UConn as designated. The successful candidate in this full-time position will monitor compliance for students enrolled in clinical/practicum programs and provide support to program coordinators in designated programs. This position reports to the Director of OCPC and works in collaboration with the OCPC staff, particularly the Senior Compliance Specialist. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reviews student clinical compliance requirements (e.g., immunizations, background checks, drug screen etc.) for accuracy and compliance with program and site policies and procedures for designated clinical/practicum programs. Advises and assists with verification of student clinical compliance requirements and follows up to ensure all students are in compliance with established deadlines. Provides reports on student compliance status or other compliance-related items to designated programs on a regular and ad hoc basis. Ensures that timely notices related to non-compliant students in violation of contract and program compliance requirements are sent so that appropriate action is taken by the designated programs. Reviews databases for accuracy and assists compliance team as needed to resolve issues. Serves as a resource to students, staff, preceptors, faculty, and external agencies regarding compliance requirements and provides assistance in resolving problems as they arise. Follows established procedures and workflows to complete assigned tasks. Performs related work MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s degree. Two years of related professional experience. Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, and experience working within tight and conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated experience building relationships and working with a wide variety of constituents, especially students, faculty, and external agencies. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated integrity and experience operating within and maintaining a confidential environment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree. At least two years coordinating student clinical placements in a university setting and direct experience managing student clinical compliance requirements in a university environment. Experience working in higher education with students and faculty. Demonstrated experience with university, clinical site, and state, federal, and international regulations. Experience with Core. ELMS, American Databank, and/or related clinical database software.
