The Department may require employees to perform functions beyond those contained in job descriptions. The Department may modify job descriptions based on Department needs. The Arkansas Department of Transportation is an "at will" employer. Monitor and oversee the Ask ARDOT public inquiry tracking system for District inquiries. Assist the Communications Coordinator with running reports and updating system changes across the Department. Research and prepare responses to Ask ARDOT inquiries related to district projects, maintenance activities, and public concerns. Communicate directly with District Engineers, maintenance staff, and leadership to gather accurate and timely information and prepare responses. Provide responses to customers consistent with management guidance and expectations in a professional, clear, and courteous manner. Serve as a communications liaison between the District and the Communications Division. Assist in identifying district stories, updates, and issues that may require broader communication efforts. Monitor recurring public questions or concerns and report trends to the Communications Division. Work with the District staff to identify and collect content for use on social media. On occasion, travel to worksites and locations within Central Arkansas to assist with collecting content or scheduled events. Minimum Requirements Education and experience: The educational equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in related field OR the educational equivalent to a diploma from an accredited high school and at least four years of experience in the Communications field. Knowledge, skills and abilities: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats. Ability to work quickly with frequently shifting priorities and deadlines. Attention to detail with strong analytical skills. Results-oriented and driven to execute with a high level of accuracy in tight timeframes. Process-oriented and highly organized with the ability to help keep projects on track. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to utilize social media tools and Internet-related programs. Ability to accurately and comprehensively plan, research, develop, and assemble reports. Ability to collaborate with staff across the Department and work together as a team. Working conditions: Office environment. Occasional in-state travel. Licenses, registrations and certifications: Valid driver's license. ("Accredited" means the educational institution or program is accredited by an accrediting organization recognized either by the United States Department of Education or by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.)
