Foster positive and professional interactions with staff, student workers, children and families. Prepare and serve meals and snacks for children in the Center in accordance with established schedules. Ensure all food preparation meets applicable food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Accommodate and monitor dietary needs and restrictions of children. Prepare meals in appropriate quantities in compliance with the Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) requirements. Maintain full compliance with all Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines and regulations. Prepare and organize food carts based on meal requirements and classroom enrollment. Transport meals to assigned classroom according to established schedule. Clean and sanitize dishes, equipment and kitchen areas in accordance with state regulations. Dispose of trash and maintain cleanliness of kitchen and service areas, including emptying large trash containers into dumpsters. Complete all required training required for the position
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED Experience in food service, childcare or related setting. Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to follow guidelines set by the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Ability to prepare and serve meals in a timely and efficient manner Strong communication skills with ability to follow written and verbal instructions Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Ability to lift and carry 25–50 pounds (food supplies, carts and equipment) Demonstrated reliability and consistent attendance Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with children, families, and staff Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to customer service
