This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that handles hydraulic simulations, Leak detection analysis and trainer configuration for liquid pipelines. The successful candidate will be a Technical subject matter expert for a CPM / RTTM leak detection implementation project. The primary Leak detection tool will be Pipeline Integrity Monitor (PIM). Depending on the background, the candidate may perform hydraulic simulations or trainer configuration for surface facilities, crude and natural gas liquids pipelines using Synergi Pipeline Simulator (SPS). The Engineer supports new and existing projects in Engineering and Operations through hydraulic simulation, design, and sizing various equipment to address system changes, improve operating efficiency, identify opportunities for improvement, mitigate risk, or address business questions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Developing and tuning Leak Detection Systems using AVEVA PIM package, starting from data collection to configuration, testing, and supporting the product in the production environment. Alarm management, adjusting thresholds and resolving bugs to eliminate nuisance alarms. Run steady state and transient simulations for single and multiphase flow using SPS and prepare technical reports for surface production facilities and pipelines. Perform surge analysis and write technical reports to design relief and pressure protection systems and recommend operation set points. Collaborating with Control Center operations to develop and update trainer systems, and manage scenarios. Providing guidance to project engineers and third party engineering firms regarding pipeline design and equipment sizing. Updating and patching servers and perform other support or maintenance activities associated with the LDS in Liquids Pipelines. This will include upgrading the Leak. Warn LDS to AVEVA's Pipeline Integrity Monitor (PIM) system. Work closely with the Control Center and the SCADA department in maintaining the connectivity between the LDS and SCADA supplied data and Keep the Leak Detection System in Main and Back up Control Rooms in Synch. Assist Pipeline Control and Operations when needed and provide after-hours support in order to verify alarms/alerts within the leak detection model
