Assist in helping prepare meals in consultation with the PACE Cook and/or Dietary Manager. Serve meals as necessary and on a timely basis. Follow recipes, prepare, and cook food in a clean and sanitary manner. Ensure established meal plans are prepared in line with the Dietary Manager's instructions. As directed, take note of food allergies and prepare food in line with Participants’ needs. Assist the Registered Dietitian in interviewing patients to ensure personalized dietary needs are met. Record meals served accurately, and monitor food temperatures. Set up meal trays, food carts, etc., and distribute trays prepared for PACE Participants. Set up and take down dining areas to ensure the distribution and collection of plates, glasses, etc. Collect and clean trays, wipe kitchen surfaces, and sanitize as necessary. Properly dispose of food waste, and ensure plates and utensils are not contaminated. Reports all broken equipment to the Dietary Manager. Assist the Dietary Manager in ensuring all the necessary ingredients are in stock and keep track of what is in the kitchen and what needs to be replenished. Ensure all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent, GED Certificate required. Food Handler Permit required upon hire or obtained within 90 days of hire.”Traveling between sites and other locations is occasionally required. Must have a valid California driver’s license, an automobile, and proof of minimum levels of car insurance as required under California law, although limits of $100,000 are recommended. An acceptable driving record is also required. California law requires all drivers to obtain a valid California driver’s license within ten days of establishing residency. Reasonable accommodation may be provided on a case-by-case basis. Mileage and other reimbursements are governed by policy. Experience/ Specialized skills (including Language) 1-2 years of experience in the role of Dietary Aide, or assisting in food preparation and distribution of meals to designated patients or participants, preferably with the older adult population. Knowledge of safety guidelines and sanitation in food handling. Aptness in preparing meals in accordance with precise instructions. Ability to read and comprehend common recipes. Good verbal communication skills, including good customer service skills. Skill in operating cooking appliances and cookware, with the ability to work efficiently and safely. Ability to pay attention to detail, including following instructions for dietary needs, reading recipes, and meal orders. Ability to record information accurately. Ability to work effectively with culturally, economically, and educationally diverse populations. Bilingual Spanish/ English preferred.
