Fairview is looking for a Registered Nurse on the Birthplace Float team at Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN. Schedule: This role is a .6 FTE (48 hours) per pay period, 12-hour night shifts, with every third weekend rotation. Variable schedule. About this Location:Fairview Lakes Medical Center offers top quality primary and specialty care to community residents. The 4-star rating places Fairview Lakes in the top 30 percent of hospitals in the country. About this Unit:The Lakes Birthplace Float team floats between the Med/ Surg & Birthplace units. The Med/ Surg unit has 28 beds & delivers conscientious, well-rounded care to patients every day, and is also capable of providing telemetry. The patient ratio would be 4 patients per RN on the day and evening shift, and 5-6 on the night shift. The Birthplace unit is dynamic and collaborative. All RNs within the unit are trained to Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, OR circulator and PACU (c-section care), pediatrics, and nursery. (Cross training to med/surg may be required at leader discretion). All RNs are trained in lactation support, some of the RNs on the unit are Certified Lactation Consultants. Our location also has free parking for employees! Responsibilities:The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate. Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes. Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care. Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs. Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes. Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care. Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes. Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP)Required Qualifications:MN Registered Nurse (RN) License. Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)At least one of the following:1 year RN Birthplace experience. Or 1 year RN Med/ Surg experience AND past Capstone or Summer Nurse Internship in a Birthplace. Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Nursing 1 year experience
