High school diploma or equivalent required, along with completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program ( - see substitution information below). Current Surgical Technologist Certification is required within one year from the date of graduation from a surgical technologist program OR candidates must meet one of the following criteria:Have been employed as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility on or before July 1, 2013 Have successfully completed a surgical technology training program through the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or the United States Public Health Service. Requirements are in accordance with Massachusetts Senate Bill 2058 (December 2012)Graduates who have not yet obtained certification will have one year from the date of graduation to become certified. Prefer at least 1 year of Surgical Technology experience. Preferred Qualifications. Associate degree preferred 1 to 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting preferred. Committee participation and leadership experience preferred.
