Responsibilities include servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing water, sewer, or gas distribution lines. The candidate will be required to repair, replace, and maintain valves, fixtures, backflow prevention devices, and other associated equipment. Employees are reminded that they represent both the department and the university and are expected to maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance while on duty. The candidate will routinely work with other crafts and will be required to monitor contracted work and provide training to subordinate employees. This position is considered essential, and employees will be required to work as scheduled when University offices are closed due to emergencies or natural disasters. This position works under the direct supervision of the Plumbing Supervisor in the Facilities Maintenance department. Special Note: We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
Essential Job Functions
Installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and fittings throughout the campus. Keeping accurate records of work performed while maintaining an inventory of plumbing supplies and ordering necessary materials. Diagnosing and repairing issues with plumbing systems, such as leaks, clogs, and faulty components. Ensuring all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with staff, faculty, and students.
Minimum and Desired Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED is required . months of plumbing experience. Valid Driver’s License. Desired Qualifications: Plumbing License and or certification. 1-3 years of direct plumbing experience. Familiarity with plumbing tools and equipment. Experience with sewer cleaning and inspection equipment.
