Lead, mentor, and grow a team of technical writers. Conduct regular 1-on-1 s, provide actionable feedback, and support career development. Define the documentation vision, including tool selection, style guides, and information architecture. Act as the primary bridge between Engineering, Product Management, and Support to ensure documentation is integrated into the Software Development Life Cycle. Prioritize projects and manage the team’s bandwidth to meet tight release deadlines without sacrificing quality. Create and implement documentation strategy within a cross-functional organization that supports documentation usability and innovation Review documentation for consistency across processes through application of standards and style guides. Maintain and improve our Docs-as-Code workflow (Git, Markdown, CI/ CD pipelines). Transform complex, technical material into clear and concise documentation that will be read by target audience members such as Engineers, Product Managers, Architects, and Senior Leadership. Create technical documentation for APIs, SDKs and integrations Translate complex ideas into understandable logical concepts using both architectural diagrams and supporting descriptions Write in a formal technical writing style (for example, active voice, implied you, consistent tenses, etc.)Conduct in-depth interviews with subject matter experts to fully understand the architecture or products Collaborate with engineers, product managers and architects on a daily basis to develop, publish and maintain high quality customer-focused documentation. Rely upon metrics and other forms of data to understand the variation in utility of the content, identify areas in need of review, and to drive planning & prioritization. Develop Content that drives searchability for SEO and LLM optimization. Maintain and continuously update content management system(s) of documentation. Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or military experience. At least 10 years of experience writing technical documentation for software solutions At least 4 years of people management experience. At least 3 years of experience with Markdown and Git ?Preferred Qualifications:5 years experience working with documentation authoring tools, e.g., Hugo, Git. Book, and Confluence. Experience writing technical documentation for data security software Skilled at transforming deeply technical content into clear, useful customer-focused materials Ability to collaborate with developers to translate their content into easily understood documentation. Experience writing in an Agile software development process. Strong understanding of data management technologies and processes 3 years of experience with SDLC 3 years of experience in software development 1 year experience in a financial services industry 3 years experience working in an Agile environment
