The Multi-modality Technologist I provides quality imaging and patient care within two (2) medical imaging modalities in any combination of which MRI, CT, Mammography, or X-ray are the primary modality. Performs imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients in a clinic or hospital setting as requested by the ordering physician or other licensed provider. The procedures are performed under general supervision of a Radiologist for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols. The Multi-modality Technologist I must be able to effectively explain the procedure to the patient and be sure they are competent in the procedure being performed. In addition, the Multi-modality Technologist I will be able to provide care to the patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist. The Multi-modality Technologist I will meet all of the qualifications and requirements for the modalities in which they are certified and will work a minimum of 40% of the time in the second modality. The position may require flex shifts and support at different UTMB Campuses. IMAGING TECHNOLOGIST II Minimum Qualifications: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED Three (3) Years' Experience in the Primary Imaging Modality One (1) Year Experience in the Secondary Imaging Modality LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS Two (2) Certifications from one or more of the following credentialing organizations: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Vascular Technologist (RVT-VT), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT). Registration as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-GC) through the Texas Medical Board, if applicable. American Heart Association BLS. Preferred Qualifications: Associate's Degree - Strongly Preferred Experience and/or Registry in Computed Tomography (CT) JOB DESCRIPTION: The Multi-modality Technologist II provides quality imaging and patient care within two (2) medical imaging modalities in any combination.
