The TRIO Project Coordinator is the primary resource for Student Success Services (SSS) Participants throughout their college career. Summary of Position Responsibilities The Project Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations and student-facing implementation of the TRIO-SSS grant, focusing on the direct execution of recruitment, eligibility, and academic support services. This role is responsible for the full participant intake pipeline, which includes identifying eligible students via Slate, conducting needs assessments, and verifying federal compliance through financial aid and disability documentation. Operationally, the Coordinator maintains the program’s digital infrastructure—managing participant databases, tracking engagement logs, and utilizing EAB Navigate to monitor academic persistence and graduation milestones. As a lead practitioner, they formulate and execute the program’s outreach strategy through targeted social media and university events, while providing intensive secondary advising to guide students through the “Passport to Success” curriculum. By reconciling engagement data and maintaining audit-ready files, the Coordinator ensures the operational integrity required for the Director’s federal reporting and the program’s continued funding. Recruit applicants, verify eligibility, and interview candidates for the TRIO SSS Program. Communicate with SSS participants not currently in Good Academic Standing Meet with SSS participants to complete the Passport to Success Create and update participant files Serve as a secondary advisor for SSS participants Advertise TRIO SSS to prospective students and to the general campus community Minimum Education/ Experience Master’s or terminal degree 2 years of experience in higher education Proficiency in data collection and database management Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience Prior experience working with TRIO or other college access programs for low-income and first-generation students Knowledge of case management services and advising students on college course selection, financial aid application processes, and graduate school or career exploration Knowledge of student information systems Excellent written and oral communication skills for engaging with diverse audiences and campus stakeholders Personal experience overcoming barriers similar to those confronting the project’s target population Necessary Certifications/ Licenses Preferred Certifications/ Licenses
