We are looking for a Management Improvement in the Water and Sanitation Sector Consultant for the Water and Sanitation Division (INE/ WSA). As Management Improvement in the Water and Sanitation Sector Consultant for INE/ WSA, you will support the preparation, execution, and coordination of INE/ WSA’s activities to promote management improvement of sector institutions. You will work in the Water and Sanitation Division (WSA) within the Infrastructure and Energy (INE) department. The WSA seeks to ensure universal and sustainable access to high-quality water, sanitation, and solid waste management services to contribute to sustainable economic growth in IDB member countries in Latin America and the Caribbean and to improve the quality of life of their citizens. Management improvement of sector institutions is considered as one of the key areas of INE/ WSA’s work, as performance of these institutions is a critical element for ensuring the sustainability of results of infrastructure projects. What you’ll do Support the management of day-to-day operations of projects related to management improvement (Aqua. Rating and others) including, but not limited to, coordination, budgeting, planning and preparation of technical cooperation documents. Contribute to the design, piloting, and improvement of tools and/or methodologies for management improvement in the water and sanitation sector. Assist WSA’s operational portfolio management, by monitoring the progress of operations (loans, T - Cs, and grants) and by supporting WSA specialists in the resolution of issues that are affecting project execution. Contribute to the preparation of INE/ WSA operations. Support INE/ WSA’s outreach with donors to manage relationships, prepare new proposals for projects, identify potential new funding sources, and provide information for monitoring and evaluation. Share the experience and the knowledge acquired in projects supported by the Japanese trust funds (including JSF and JPO) in the water and sanitation sector. Support the organization of events, prepare presentations, agendas, reports and background papers. What you'll need Education: Master’s degree or equivalent advanced degree preferred in business administration, public administration, finance, economics, international studies, engineering, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Experience: 5 years of progressive experience in business management, project management, process improvement, organizational development, finance, and other areas relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Education and experience are evaluated in a combined manner. Languages: Fluency in Japanese required, additionally fluency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required. Requirements Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
