The Environmental Management Division of the Public Works Department is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Services Analyst to join our team of professionals to perform financial and operational analysis and other administrative functions, such as preparing formal and technical documentation and reports, while contributing to a team providing financial and administrative analysis for business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s or higher degree with at least four years of hands-on experience related to finance, budget and technical writing. ABOUT THIS ROLE:In the role of Business Services Analyst, you will dive into a variety of analytical tasks, with an emphasis on finance, budget, technical writing, recruitment and talent management. Accuracy with numerical data, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in communicating complex information verbally and in writing are key to success in this position. In this role, you may also supervise other administrative staff, including prioritizing, assigning, and reviewing financial and administrative work. Responsibilities in this role may include, but are not limited to:Serve as backup in the absence of the Senior Business Services Analyst to lead an administrative team that provides financial, payroll, asset management, customer service, and human resource support;Perform financial transactions, daily deposits and reconciliations;HR Liaison, lead division’s recruitment efforts for all vacancies, provide guidance to staff on HR Policy;Perform analysis of financial, performance, and operational data; create reports and data visualizations; and develop recommendations for process improvement;Coordinate Board item development and submission to the Board of County Supervisors on behalf of the Environmental Management Division;Write, review, and update various documents, including letters, job aids, training materials, reports, policies, standard operating procedures, meeting minutes, and presentations; and. Support other program activities as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma or GED is required. At least 4 years of full-time related fiscal management, budget analysis, human resources (HR) administration, and technical/professional documentation experience is required. PREFERENCES: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field Certifications in Finance or Public Accounting Knowledge in Oracle-based Financial Applications, or Mobius. Experience supervising/leading small teams SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:Regular / Monday – Friday for 7.5 hours per day between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (37.50 hours a week)SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:N/ ASTARTING SALARY RANGE: $65,910.00 to $92,907.75 Annually.
