DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position evaluates applicants, conducts driving tests and processes identification documents to support safe and accurate licensing. As a Driver License Examiner, you will perform the following duties:Driver Testing: Administer vision, knowledge and road tests to determine driving qualifications. Document Review: Examine applications and identity documents for accuracy and authenticity. Vehicle Inspection: Check vehicles for proper mechanical condition and required safety features. Identity Verification: Use system tools to confirm eligibility and prevent fraudulent transactions. Customer Assistance: Provide guidance on licensing procedures, requirements and test results. Record Processing: Issue licenses, update records and follow all required policies and regulations. Interested in learning more? Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch. Overtime and travel to other driver license centers may be required as necessary. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS - Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or. Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public. Special Requirements:This position requires an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application. This position requires no suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five year period immediately preceding employment. All employees in this job hired after February 28, 2022, are required to obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver’s license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment.
