As a Recreation Leader, you'll collaborate to plan and implement age-appropriate weekly arts and crafts, games, and activities for children ages 5 to 13. Scheduled work hours will be at various park locations. Leaders will assist co-leaders in creating themed events to engage participants. Staff will ensure a safe environment for participants at all times and will also attend and participate in staff trainings and meetings. Position dates for all programs are June 15 – August 13, 2026. Essential Functions Programs that Recreation Leaders will be involved with include:Camp Explore: Camp Explore is an all-day structured summer camp program for children between the ages of 6 and 9. This program takes place from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday – Thursday. Dates of program: June 15 – August 13. Playground Pros: Playground Pros is an all-day structured summer camp program for children between the ages of 9 and 12. Activities will be geared to older aged children. This program takes place from 9:00 am-4:00 pm, Monday-Thursday. Dates of program: June 15 – August 13. Tykes: Tykes is a morning only summer camp program for children between the ages of 4 and 5. Activities will be geared to preschool aged children. This program takes place from 9:00 am-12:00 pm, Monday-Thursday. Dates of program: June 15 – August 13. Pop-Up Park: Recreation Leaders will be bringing games/activities to various neighborhood and community parks throughout Burnsville. This program takes place on select Friday mornings throughout the summer from 10:00 am – Noon. Additional Program Opportunities: Recreation Leaders will also have the opportunity to help out at various city-wide special events and youth specialty camps throughout the summer
