Patient Access Trainer, Full Time, Hybrid. Travel required between all UMMS Facilities. Flexible work schedule needed. Develops, coordinates, and delivers training programs for new and existing staff responsible for registration, bed control, and scheduling functions. Designs and organizes comprehensive training courses for Patient Access and support staff, covering departmental policies and procedures, registration data quality standards, medical necessity software, scanning applications, and coding tools. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities performed. Plans training activities and oversees the development of training projects. Conducts orientation sessions and provides on-the-job training for new and existing employees. Provides training on daily operations, including patient identification, data collection, situation assessment, and processes that ensure financial viability while enhancing customer service skills. Develops and delivers training to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements impacting patient registration and financial clearance, including but not limited to HIPAA privacy standards, EMTALA emergency treatment protocols, Medicare and Medicaid regulations, the No Surprises Act, the Affordable Care Act, CMS Conditions of Participation, and identity theft prevention rules. Provides training on patient rights, accurate data collection, insurance verification, and cost transparency requirements. Develops and maintains insurance training related to eligibility verification, coordination of
