Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Field Worker for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Measures bioplastic plasticulture durability and crop yield. Monitors surface temperatures, soil temperatures, plant growth, chlorophyll, and microbial soil populations. Maintains crop production; transplant habanero and other peppers and tomatoes. Performs data entry of findings and results. Certifications/ Licenses A valid driver’s license would be required for this position. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to perform data entry using computer systems. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a scientific/technical discipline. Experience working in greenhouses/farms conducting field research and development. Equipment Utilized Soil sampling/temperature probes and chlorophyll meter. Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
