Marketing and Communications Coordinator. Department:Student Life | Marketing. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator supports the development and execution of marketing and communication activities for Student Life departments. The coordinator provides basic consultative marketing guidance to a small number of Student Life departments and assists in the implementation of marketing plans and communication strategies. The role includes coordinating project workflows, maintaining communication channels, documenting projectupdates in the department’s project management system, Basecamp, and supporting the creation of marketing materials. The coordinator helps ensure that departmental messages align with university and Student Life brand standards. The coordinator also provides critical administrative and operational support for the full Student Life Marketing team. This includes updating the Student Life website calendar, managing the team’s shared email inbox, creating, maintaining calendar dedicated to managing and planning Student Life marketing initiatives. in Basecamp, scheduling meetings, and supporting events. The individual in this role partners with colleagues and departmental staff to ensure that marketing and communication tasks are completed accurately and on time. Key responsibilities include:Supporting the development and execution of foundational marketing plans for select Sudent Life Departments. Coordinating marketing projects, timelines, and communication workflows. Partnering with the design and creative team to prepare marketing materials and digital assets. Ensuring alignment with Student Life and university branding and communication standards. Maintaining project information in Basecamp and supporting updates to departmental calendars and websites. Managing shared marketing inboxes and routing inquiries to the appropriate team members. Providing administrative support for meetings, communications, and events. Supporting special projects and Student Life initiatives as needed. Responsibilities 50% – Consultative Marketing Support. Serves as a marketing point of contact for select Student Life departments. Provides foundational consultative support on marketing needs and branding alignment. Assists with developing and updating basic marketing plans and communication strategies. Coordinates with the design team to support development of promotional materials. Tracks marketing projects to ensure timely execution and alignment with goals. Helps identify key audiences and communication channels .5% – Administrative & Operational Support. Creates, modifies, and maintains projects in Basecamp. Schedules meetings with interdisciplinary partners and supports logistics. Participates in Student Life and marketing events. Updates Student Life website calendars. Manages the Student Life Marketing and Communications shared inbox. Performs additional administrative duties as needed .5% – Other Duties as Assigned. Provides general support for Student Life initiatives. Assists with departmental priorities and special projects. Completes tasks aligned with the scope of the role as assigned. Education / Skills / Experience. Required:Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field or equivalent experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively and manage multiple tasks. Comfort with digital communication platforms and project management tools. Desired:0-2 years of relevant experience. Professional experience working in a generalized consultative marketing and communications role. Familiarity with Basecamp or other project management systems.
