RGP is seeking a senior Google Workspace Platform Engineer to own and operate Google Workspace as a mission-critical enterprise platform following a complex carve-out and large-scale migration. This role requires a hands-on expert who has operated in highly customized environments, solved ambiguous and non-standard user issues, and driven platform decisions at scale. You will serve as the primary escalation point and platform owner, responsible not just for support, but for solutioning, optimization, and ensuring long-term stability and security in a newly deployed environment. This role demands strong technical depth, sound judgment, and the ability to anticipate and mitigate issues in advance of end-user impact. Location: Remote anywhere in the United States (Eastern Time overlap preferred)Engagement Type: Contract (6 -12 months, extendable)Pay range: $75-$85/ DOE What You Will Work On Own and administer Google Workspace end-to-end, acting as the primary SME and escalation point across identity, collaboration, and security. Operate effectively in a highly customized environment, addressing complex and unique user scenarios with thoughtful, scalable solutions. Lead post-migration stabilization efforts, proactively identifying and mitigating risks resulting from large-scale data and user migrations. Fine-tune Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and security policies, balancing strong protection with business usability. Manage Context-Aware Access (CAA) policies. Troubleshoot complex access and security issues. Administer and optimize identity and access management. Lead Chrome Enterprise browser and extension management, including deployment, configuration, and governance across devices. Manage and support mobile device management (MDM) within Google Workspace, ensuring secure and compliant device access. Deploy and leverage GAM (Google Apps Manager), including secure setup, access control, and advanced administrative scripting. Analyze audit logs, access logs, and system activity to proactively surface risks and improve platform controls. Drive user lifecycle management (onboarding, offboarding, and high-turnover environments)Translate recurring support issues into systemic platform improvements and preventative controls What You Will Bring 8 years of hands-on Google Workspace administration, with demonstrated ownership of enterprise-scale environments. Proven experience solutioning complex and ambiguous technical challenges. Experience managing and sustaining post-go-live issues across thousands of users. Deep expertise in:DLP and Workspace security features (design, tuning, and optimization)Identity and access management, including Context-Aware Access. Advanced troubleshooting across collaboration, access, and data environments. Strong experience managing Chrome Enterprise environments, including extension deployment and configuration. Hands-on experience with GAM, including secure implementation and advanced administrative use cases.
