The part-time Wellbeing Coach is responsible for supporting the Wake Forest University Office of Wellbeing’s vision and priorities in making wellbeing a part of every experience for students, faculty, and staff. The primary role for the Wellbeing Coach is to act as a wellbeing navigator and accountability partner, community resource advisor, and educator. This position provides students, faculty, and staff with behavioral change focused sessions to create and maintain a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle using an evidence-based model of Health and Wellness coaching. The position includes a flexible schedule, with up to 20 hours a week primarily in person with limited virtual coaching hours. Job Description. This position is not eligible for sponsorship of non-immigrant or immigrant visa status through Wake Forest University. All eligible applicants are encouraged to apply. Essential Functions:Contacts and meets with faculty, staff, and/or students to provide wellbeing coaching to support active adoption of habits that are conducive to a higher quality of life. Provides virtual, small-group or face-to-face coaching, consultation, information, and/or referral services to clients utilizing established coaching protocols, procedures, and behaviorchange methodologies in an accurate and courteous manner. Provides an orientation to coaching (i.e., explain coach and client roles, identify coaching parameters). Partners with the client to develop a shared comprehensive coaching plan including measurable goals and weekly or bi-weekly action plans. Uses various assessment strategies appropriate to the goals of the client and to facilitate the coaching process. Monitors client progress toward weekly agreements and goal attainment, providing structured opportunities for action plan adjustments, self-reflection, development of decision-making skills, and celebration for successes. Documents the health behavior change process, which includes assessing client’s expectations and priorities, wellbeing vision, stages of readiness, motivation, and confidence; potential barriers and pillars of support; action planning strategies, and changes in wellbeing status and goal attainment(i.e., weight, stress management, physical fitness) in Acuity, the database used by the WFU Wellbeing Coaching Program for scheduling and documentation. Contact clients overdue for visits. Work collaboratively within a team setting. Participates in departmental and institutional diversity and inclusion initiatives; ensures the delivery of culturally competent care for a diverse student body. Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Health and Wellness Coach Certification acquired from a National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching approved training program. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work and think independently, and contribute to a team oriented work environment. Ability to work effectively with, and program for, a diverse student population, faculty, staff, and administrators. Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism. Physical Requirements:Communication with others to exchange information. Repeated motions that may include wrists, hands and/or fingers. Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
