Stifel Bank is seeking a high caliber Senior Vice President to join our Fund Banking team. The Fund Banking group provides commercial banking services to private investment funds. This includes funds investing across all alternative asset classes but with a specific focus on venture capital, growth equity, and lower middle market private equity. Products and services include capital call / subscription lines of credit, management company / GP lending, treasury management, and other banking services. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure in both commercial banking and private equity industry within a small tight-knit team. The Senior Vice President will be an integral part of business development, portfolio management, underwriting, and administration of the group working closely with the Head of West Coast Fund Banking. Situationally, the position is also expected to perform certain tasks for the Venture Banking team, which works closely with Fund Banking. The location of the position is flexible but would ideally be based in a city with ample VC/ PE funds, ideally LA. What We're Looking For Develop, originate and maintain relationships with VC, Growth Equity, and Middle Market Buyout Firms working in close coordination with the Head of West Coast Fund Banking. Partner with the Head of West Coast Fund Banking, Analysts and Risk Management to proactively manage and maintain desired credit quality of the portfolio. Strong underwriting and deal structuring skills are critical. Deal underwriting will be a major component of the role. Collaborate with the Fund Banking team and Group Head to develop new products and strategies to meet the banking needs of clients. Maintain in-depth knowledge of the Technology and Healthcare industries, Fund Banking community, and Stifel's broad product offerings. What You'll Bring Advanced knowledge of VC/ PE ecosystem and Fund Banking offerings. Ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of fund clients and prospects. Ability to underwrite capital call lines of credit, and management companies. GP lending experience preferred. Education & Experience Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting or equivalent experience. Minimum Required: 3 years' related experience required in corporate/commercial lending, debt capital markets, finance or accounting. 5 years of experience and experience in credit analysis and credit portfolio management preferred. Prior experience managing a portfolio of Fund Banking relationships at a previous financial institution strongly preferred. Credit Training (Moody's or other) preferred. Systems & Technology Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
