Working Location: Henry High School - 6702 Wandermere Drive, San Diego, CA 92120 School Website: Henry High School Examples of Duties: The In-School Resource Teacher assigned to Henry High School is responsible for schoolwide support to expand access to Social Emotional Learning (SEL) through classroom-based instruction, early intervention, and student engagement strategies. This position emphasizes Tier 1 and Tier 2 supports, with a focus on improving attendance, strengthening school connectedness, and supporting targeted student groups, particularly 9th grade students. The Resource Teacher works collaboratively with counselors, teachers, administrators, and families to implement proactive supports aligned to site and district goals. This position is designed to provide preventative, systems-level support and does not replace counseling services. The incumbent will expected to: Provide SEL instruction in classroom settings. Support identified students (e.g., Spotlight students) through targeted interventions and check-ins. Monitor and respond to attendance and engagement concerns. Facilitate restorative practices, including circles and conflict resolution. Collaborate with site staff to implement Tier 1 and Tier 2 supports. Communicate and partner with families to support student success. Maintain appropriate documentation and monitor progress aligned to site goals. Work with all grades TK-5. Collaborate with all staff. Work for student needs in any capacity needed. ELPAC testing. CAASPP support/testing. Interface with families of students work with per teacher/admin approval. Education and Experience: Experience with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) frameworks, restorative practices and/or student support systems and working with diverse student populations. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Licenses and Other Requirements: Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential by the closing date of the application deadline.
