DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position supports the well-being of residents at the Southwestern Veterans' Center by helping plan and carry out recreational and educational activities that encourage social, physical, and emotional growth. As a Therapeutic Activities Aide, you will perform the following duties:Activity Support: Assist with planning, organizing, and leading activities that promote resident engagement. Resident Interaction: Guide and assist residents during individual and group programs. Safe Environment: Maintain a friendly and secure setting for residents, visitors, and volunteers. Transportation Assistance: Escort and transport residents to and from activities while ensuring their comfort and safety. Supply Management: Maintain activity supplies and prepare needed items ahead of scheduled events. Observation Reporting: Monitor resident behavior and share observations with supervisors and care teams. Interested in learning more? Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs. Travel and overtime as needed. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS - Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Six months of experience as an Aide Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or. Six months of work experience providing care to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities; or. An equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements:You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements:A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
