About the Position
The Department of Planning and Economic Development is hiring a Project Management Technician to support the Planning Division. This role is a great opportunity to build hands-on experience working on planning initiatives that shape the future of Saint Paul, including development proposals, land use activities, and community planning efforts. In this role, you’ll work closely with planning staff, internal partners, and the public to help coordinate projects, track progress, and support planning processes while ensuring work aligns with City policies, codes, and ordinances. Here’s what you can expect to do:Support planning projects by tracking timelines, gathering information, and helping keep work on schedule. Assist with development proposals, planning applications, and land use activities. Collect, organize, and report data related to planning initiatives and projects. Help coordinate meetings, public engagement activities, and planning communications. Respond to questions from community members, developers, and stakeholders regarding planning processes and requirements. Position Requirements
Associate’s Degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Community Development, Economics, Business Administration, Public Policy, Finance, or a closely related field;OR - Two years of experience assisting with planning, housing, community development, economic development, or project/program administration work;
