The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is seeking a Family Medicine Physician in the rank of Assistant Professor for the newly established Marian R. Stuart Center for Wellbeing, a team-based home visit program providing wrap-around services to patients across the lifespan. The first phase of this new Center will target the aging population in the greater New Brunswick and greater Newark regions. A Family Medicine trained physician is required to provide care for participating patients and their families. The ideal candidate will also be part of the Center’s leadership team providing medical directorship and will report to the Department Chair of Family Medicine and Community Health. Position Status Full Time Posting Number 26 FA 0494 Posting Open Date 05/19/2026 Posting Close Date 05/27/2026 Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Minimum of 5 years post-residency clinical experience Experience working with a diverse underserved population At least 2 years of a prior leadership role in healthcare Completion of a postdoctoral primary care research fellowship Certifications/ Licenses Medical license in New Jersey Up-to-date DEA and CDS registrations Successful completion of a Family Medicine Residency Board-certified in Family Medicine Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Outstanding medical knowledge Excellent patient-centered skills and ability to provide optimal patient care Passion for and ability to work with patients and their family member(s) in their home Support a team-based and culturally effective approach to care and clearly communicate with other members of the care team (e.g., nursing, social work, pharmacy, etc.) Ability to work with other family physicians, AP - Ns and healthcare team members Provide clinical leadership, strategic direction, and administrative oversight for the Stuart Center to ensure appropriate, timely service of the highest achievable quality and support the program’s growth. Serve as a liaison to other Rutgers schools to engage and empower new community pathways for education and service delivery. Educate and train medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals Strong organizational and decision-making skills Note: This position requires local travel to patient homes and administrative offices. Candidates should possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
