Director & Actuary I - Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week at our Denver office, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. The Director & Actuary I is responsible for directing and providing leadership for actuarial projects. How You Will Make an Impact:Guides staff in the preparation and interpretation of data and related formulae. Assists Actuarial department head in developing the company's actuarial policies and procedures. Directs and provides leadership in actuarial functions, which may include: the design, pricing, and implementation of assigned products; estimation of reserves and financial reporting, interpretation and projection; analysis of trends and cost of care initiatives; and actuarial modeling and analytics. Maintains the product line to comply with various state and federal regulations. Conducts and analyzes experience studies, validates pricing assumptions and monitors the consistency of company practices and procedures. Performs short and long-term financial forecasting and analysis. Responsible for decisions determining priority of work assignments, appropriateness of actuarial and statistical analysis, determining actuarial soundness of products, reserve position, underwriting guidelines, etc. Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports. Minimum Requirements:Requires a BA/ BS in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or related field and minimum of 7 years of relate experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. Requires ASA/ MAAA. Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:Prior managerial, Valuation, and appointed actuary experience preferred. Qualified to sign Actuarial Opinions. For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the salary - range for this specific position is $155,760 to $233,640 Location: Colorado.
