Be on a dynamic team responsible for Navy research and development offshore on research vessels and ashore in fabrication and test lab facilities, operation of marine remote operating vehicles (RO - Vs), and support for underwater electromagnetic testing in Ft. Serco supports the South Florida Ocean Measurement Facility (SFOMF) including underwater test equipment construction and maintenance, associated underwater and shore side assets, marine vehicles, small craft, equipment maintenance and operations. You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer to deliver management, engineering, acquisition, and logistics support required to conduct system upgrades, maintenance, and sustainment in support of the SFOMF. In this role, you will:Act as an Engineering Technician, Rigger, and Boat Operator / Mechanic responsible for safely and efficiently setting up and dismantling dockside equipment and operating small watercraft to support range events. Collaborate closely with our team of professionals to execute projects according to client specifications and industry best practices. Support waterfront test range operations Operate and support maintenance of range watercraft used in testing. Perform rigging activities for lifting and transporting heavy equipment, machinery, and materials using cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment. Maintain accurate records of activities, equipment inspections, and safety documentation. Support the maintenance and upkeep of systems, write performance requirements, and develop maintenance schedules. Test equipment, solve operating problems, and estimate the time and cost of engineering projects. Assist staff in moderately technical aspects of project work. Acquire a working knowledge of customer databases and of the types of information stored in each file. Assist in the preparation of appropriate technical documentation. As required, verbally present information at project review sessions and in informal interface with customers. Comply with security procedures in the performance of duties. To be successful in this role, you will have: Active or Current Secret Clearance. US Citizenship. High School Diploma/ GED.3 years of proven experience as a maritime worker or as a Navy or Coast Guard Boatswain’s Mate or relevant experience. Knowledge of rigging techniques, equipment, and hardware used in lifting and transportation operations. Familiarity with crane operations, load charts, and rigging calculations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Attention to detail and a commitment to safety at all times. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required by project demands. Should be willing to travel out of state on occasion as required by project demands. Must pass fit for duty assessment, drug test, and background check. Solid experience in marine construction labor work. Proficiency in using hand and power tools. Familiarity with blueprints and construction site operations. Ability to work on rough carpentry and fiberglass construction. Valid driver's license. Ability to travel 10% of the time.
