Research Scientist - Neurological Surgery. Department:Medicine | Neurological Surgery. Research Scientist to participate in the development and implementation of a nationally competitiveprogram on neurological disorders within the Department of Neurological Surgery; develops and testshypotheses; plans, designs and implements new research techniques and methodologies in thelaboratory; plans, designs and executes advanced research experiments; conducts statistical analysis,evaluation and interpretation of raw data; develops new and on-going collaborative researchopportunities; writes and maintains EHS and IRB proposals; collaborates with statistical support to meet program needs; overseas and monitors lab inventory; directs, supervises and oversees daily laboratory activities; ensures appropriate and timely maintenance of research equipment; assesses laboratory strengths and weaknesses towards process improvement and higher efficiency; develops micro and nano sensors and stimulators for biomedical applications, including data analysis for in vitro and in vivo environments, designs experimental setup and manages data acquisition for systems; identifies and resolves laboratory problems; ensures, tracks and documents laboratory productivity and documentation of research on a weekly basis; serves as primary laboratory contacts, supervises and instructs junior research staff, post-doctoral researchers, undergraduate and graduate students. Minimum Education & Experience Required. Doctorate (Academic) or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
