Under general supervision, uses comprehensive knowledge and standardized principles, practices, and procedures to perform and coordinate department records and information management function. This position provides various complex law enforcement tasks. Responsibilities. Reviews and maintains police records, reports, logs, case files, and other departmental documentation and materials. This includes daily police records review as auditor and NIBRS specialist and approval. Process government agency records requests. This includes Open Records Request, Justice of the Peace and District Attorney. Performs regular record retention and destruction and ensures accurate digital filing of records. Review records retention policies and schedules to determine timetables for transferring active records to inactive, archival storage or destruction. Managing UTPD Requests email inbox. This includes handling disbursement of subpoenas, depositions and warrant recalls. Manages personnel duty and organization assignments within the records management system and access privileges. Acts as point of contact and liaison for RMS system issues and NIBRS Reporting Issues. Follows court orders to seal or expunge police records. Completes required monthly, quarterly and annual reporting. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications. Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Business, Public Administration, or a related field. Experience working with Records Management Systems, preferably Central Square (RMS). Knowledge of Open Records Requests (OR - Rs), including processing and compliance requirements. Experience handling record redactions and expunctions. Familiarity with Axon systems and related digital evidence platforms. Experience completing state and government reporting requirements (monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting). Prior public safety management experience, including oversight of personnel and operational processes. Experience in employee supervision, performance management, and staff development Relevant experience may be substituted as appropriate. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications. Experience working within law enforcement databases. Experience with data analysis, data visualization, and presentation. Experience working with Tableau, CA , and QGIS a plus. Salary Range$80,000 depending on qualifications.
