Performs para-professional police and support activities to assist the Homeless Outreach Team. Daily duties include but are not limited to answering phones, responding to emails, creating HOT IDs, and assisting with other administrative duties. RESPONSIBILITIES:GENERAL: - Prepares referrals for homeless outreach services. - Assists Police Officers in the day-to-day operations, create HOT IDs, and process reports as needed. - Utilizes personal computer and mainframe to input, maintain, and retrieve information, i.e., roll call rosters, statistical data, offense reports, etc. - Distributes interdepartmental and intradepartmental mail, parcels and supplies. - Other duties and responsibilities, as requested by the unit’s supervisor. - All duties and responsibilities may not be included in the above job descriptions WORKING CONDITIONS The position occasionally requires stooping or bending. Occasional very light lifting, such as three or four reams of papers or books (up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight) may be required.“Must be able to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearance where required.” If applicable, the applicant’s past performance evaluations, past and present supervisory recommendations, and/or Internal Affairs complaint history will be reviewed and considered.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a High School Diploma or a GED. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS One (1) year of related work experience is required, preferably in a law enforcement agency. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS - None.
