The Library Assistant is a student position which assists patrons with circulation processes while maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. Library Assistants also collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance student success and provide excellent customer service in a supportive learning environment. Compensation: $13.33/hr. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: – this position is non-exempt and is eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative, other duties may be assigned. Support library patrons by facilitating circulation processes, including material check-in/out, issuing library cards, and processing payments using Sirsi circulation software and WYL - Dcat for item searches. Maintain an organized library environment by shelving materials, assisting with technical services such as processing, inventory, and collection maintenance, and performing various administrative tasks, including data entry, supply management, and phone assistance. Collaborate with library staff on projects, display and events to enhance learning opportunities and resources. Participate in professional development, training sessions, and peer collaboration to enhance effectiveness, stay current on best practices, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
