Rider University invites applications for the Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life and New Student Programs. The Assistant Director provides vision, leadership, and management for two core areas of student co-curricular life: fraternity and sorority life and new student programming. Reporting to the Dean of Students, this position cultivates thriving communities within both areas while supporting the broader goals of student engagement, belonging, and success at Rider University. The Assistant Director oversees all aspects of the fraternity and sorority community, including housing, chapter development, and compliance. In the area of new student programs, the Assistant Director leads Summer Orientation and Welcome Week, ensuring a seamless and welcoming transition for incoming students. The Assistant Director may supervise a graduate assistant and/or receive dual reporting from an Area Coordinator supporting Greek housing.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Master’s degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education, or a related field. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a related student affairs role. Demonstrated knowledge of fraternity and sorority life, including chapter advising, housing, and national organization standards. Experience with new student orientation and/or new student programming. Strong supervision, interpersonal, organizational, and budget management skills. Multicultural competency and demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations. Flexibility with schedule; some evenings and weekends required. Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience with orientation leadership recruitment, training, and supervision. Familiarity with campus engagement platforms and student organization management systems.
