Community Heart & Vascular ECMO program is growing! - Community Heart & Vascular Hospital is excited to announce a more comprehensive ECMO program, elevating our critical care capabilities to new heights. This structured initiative brings together our expert team of cardiac surgeons, intensivists, perfusionists, and ECMO Specialist RN’s under standardized protocols that ensure seamless, coordinated care for our most critically ill patients. By formalizing our ECMO services, we're establishing clear pathways for patient selection, cannulation procedures, and ongoing management that align with the highest national standards. This program signifies how Community Health Network continually works to meet our mission by providing exceptional care to patients we serve, offering hope and life-saving intervention. Hiring Bonus! Join Community. Community Health Network was created by our neighbors, for our neighbors. Over 60 years later, “community” is still the heart of our organization. It means providing our neighbors with the best care possible, backed by state-of-the-art technology. It means getting involved in the communities we serve through volunteer opportunities and benefits initiatives. It means ensuring our dedicated caregivers can learn and grow to stay at the top of their fields and to better serve our patients. And above all, it means exceptional care, simply delivered — and we couldn’t do it without you. Make a Difference. The Registered Nurse ECMO Specialist provides nursing care to cardiac or respiratory failure patients who require ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) therapy within the Cardiovascular ICU. This includes patient management, monitoring, and maintenance of the ECMO circuit, and responsibilities related to rapid response for ECMO cannulation, equipment/pump initiation, and set-up. Initial training will be within the Cardiovascular ICU as a staff RN and the expectation will be to float between the staff RN role as well as the ECMO Specialist role. While ECMO experience would be a plus, training will be provided within the department. The Cardiovascular ICU is a 24-bed unit that serves some of the sickest cardiac/vascular patients in the city.
