An internal consultancy within the enterprise, our collaborative approach advances innovation and moves the dial on equity by: Carefully exploring the issue and its unique challenges Understanding what has worked before and what others are doing successfully Leveraging techniques that generate new, relevant ideas Providing structured project management to drive outcomes Maintaining a data-driven culture that demonstrate results The Business Process and Data Analyst will work in partnership with existing City staff and other stakeholders to identify areas where our public services are contributing to inequities. Perform research, data analysis, forecasting, data modeling, and generate dynamic content using enterprise, department, and third-party data sources. Provide assistance in the management, analysis, and visualization of department data. Develop data-driven processes to assess problems, generate responsive and innovative solutions, and deliver equitable and measurable results. Work Location: This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work with some days working remotely and some days working in the office. The City of Minneapolis does not sponsor applicants for work visas.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze performance data and interpret data trends using a variety of techniques and tools. - Coordinate research efforts, including best practice studies, literature searches and survey work to provide continued optimization of efficiency and effectiveness in operations and programs. - Develop, implement and sustain enterprise and department specific strategies related to the collection, reporting and stewardship of performance data. - Assist in the development and management of the Innovation Team process for identifying and addressing continuous improvement opportunities for City services. - Assist in the coordination, creation and improvement of innovation generating techniques for City staff including the design and delivery of training curriculum. - Work with the Innovation Team Director and Program Manager to provide candid assessments of program performance and strategies for improving City services - Managing and maintaining strong relationships with numerous city government officials and other stakeholders - Assist in the development and maintenance of the city website to report performance information to the public, Mayor, City Council and employees. Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics or a related field or equivalent. Minimum Experience: Two (2) years of experience performing duties related to those listed above. Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience closely related to the duties of the position MAY be considered. A resume is required.
