About this Job This posting is for a full-time 12-month, unclassified, in-person staff position located on-site at our Bossier Campus. Salary commensurate with credentials and experience. One (1) year of demonstrated work experience with computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe. Computer, organizational, and office management skills required. Customer service experience preferred. Work experience in an educational environment preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must have use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear and handle or feel objects and controls. Must have physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office equipment such as, but not limited to, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 10 pounds. Must be capable of sitting in a stationary position for 50% or more of workday. Job Specification The Program Support Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Academic Advising Center by providing front-line customer service, managing student intake, triaging Tier 1 advising needs, and assisting students with onboarding and registration-related tasks. This position also supports advisor communication efforts, administrative and purchasing processes, cross-functional collaboration, and activities that promote student success and the effective operation of the Advising Center and the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Services. Job Duties and Other Information Serve as the first point of contact in the Advising Center by welcoming students, managing check-ins, and assessing initial advising needs. Provide a high level of customer service by creating a welcoming, supportive, and student-centered environment. Triage visitors by identifying Tier 1 needs (e.g., appointment scheduling, general advising questions, registration holds) and providing warm hand offs to appropriate advisors or campus departments. Monitor Advising Center traffic flow and maintain an organized, student-friendly environment that promotes efficient service. Assist students with onboarding steps such as setting up Lo. LA, accessing Degree. Works, understanding holds, and locating key resources. Help students input schedule adjustments, including course adds/drops, program changes, and withdrawal forms, as directed by advisors. Answer phones and respond to walk-in and email inquiries, escalating complex advising questions to the appropriate professional advisor. Collaborate with advisors to follow up with students who miss appointments or need additional guidance after initial contact. Support Advisor communication efforts by assisting with call campaigns, email follow-ups, and outreach for registration or graduation checkpoints. Prepare and process purchasing requisitions, supply orders, and other administrative requests for the Advising Center and for the AVC for Enrollment Management. Collaborate with advisors, faculty, academic divisions, and student support offices across the college to connect students with appropriate resources, coordinate service needs, and support cross-functional initiatives and events. Perform work in a collaborative and flexible manner to support institutional operations, student success, and the overall mission of the College, including providing assistance across departments or functional areas when appropriate. Participate in after-hours and off campus College events as needed. Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and daily operations of the Advising Center and the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Services.
