POSITION SUMMARY: Director of Plant Operations key responsibilities include but not limited to: ensures the maintenance of a safe, clean, healthy and physical environment for patients, staff and guests in the standard consistent witht he philosophy and objectives of Austin Oaks Hospital. The Director's role is one of Facility Fire Marshal, Safety Officer, and Chairman of the Safety Committee. This position is responsible for initiating the emergency prepardness and operations programs for the Austin Oaks Hospital and acts as liaison to the local community and state agency emergency management agencies. Qualifications EDUCATION: Preferably College Graduate, a Facility Engineering Degree is beneficial or work experience equivalent. LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION: Valid Class C driver license; clean driving record. EXPERIENCE: Previous demonstrated Supervisory experience required, preferably in a health care setting Must have five years of experience in a health care environment, preferably behavioral Must have five years of experience in general plant operations/engineering and building construction, preferably in a health care setting. WORK HOURS: 40 per week and on-call. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB: Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand for sustained periods of time; walk, lift, pull objects from a lower to higher positions or horizontally from position to position; express or exchange ideas orally and potentially louder, accurately and quickly. Visual acuity is needed while cleaning to ensure work is being done correctly. Work is moderately heavy with frequent lifting and carrying objects weighting up to 50 pounds. Work involves considerable walking, standing, pushing, pulling or equipment. Position involves frequent reaching for and handling of cleaning tools, maintenance tools and equipment. Work is completed indoors and outdoors. Candidate must be able to assist in crisis intervention prevention with patients after completing crisis management orientation. Candidate must understand the possibility and methods of protection for exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. BENEFITS: Challenging and rewarding work environment
