We are seeking a High Throughput Experimentation Chemist to support reaction optimization and analog synthesis efforts aimed at standardizing and improving these workflows. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Rockville, MD. Perform chemical and biochemical reactions and appropriate analytical analyses. Collect and review data; analyze and interpret data and results. Execute chemical synthesis and optimization of small molecule probes for use in biological research. Purify compounds submitted by chemists. Devise synthetic routes to target molecules; produce 10-100 member libraries with acceptable purity and deliver quantities to support biological assays. Synthesize and optimize chemical probes for potency and solubility. Formulate chemistry plans for the development of soluble, potent, selective small molecule probes of biological function; analyze samples using validated analytical methods for ongoing studies. Validate analysis methods for the quantification of cell kinetics. Work with staff in identity, purity, and stability analysis. Perform bulk-synthesis, purification, and formulation efforts for advanced testing in animal models. Analyze samples using validated analytical methods for ongoing studies. Perform organic synthesis in support of the medicinal chemistry program. Prepare reports to include a summary of the samples (experimental or clinical), the modifications measured, and the results validated; write papers and abstracts detailing research efforts and results for publication in peer-reviewed journals. What You Will Need:Master’s degree in chemistry. Minimum TWO (2) years of chemical analysis experience in a laboratory setting. Demonstrated experience with common analytical chemistry techniques such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and/ or Mass Spectrometry (MS). Proven ability to document findings as shown through items such as peer reviewed publications, conference presentations/posters, or similar activities. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust. Candidates must receive approved adjudication of their Public Trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active Public Trust or existing suitability are preferred. What Would Be Nice To Have:Experience with affinity-chromatography very beneficial. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite. Strong oral and verbal communication skills. Able to maintain a functional lab environment.
